Behind the Scenes of X-Men: Destiny

Developer Silicon Knights has released a new behind the scenes look at their upcoming video game, X-Men: Destiny, which allows players to take on the role of their favorite comic book characters from the hugely popular series. X-Men: Destiny will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and DS platforms on September 27th, 2011. The official box art and more information about the game can be found below.

How To: Download Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Games

So you bought a Nintendo 3DS prior to the price drop, and you have been patiently waiting for the Ambassador Program to go live. Well, the wait is finally over! That’s right, you can download all ten of the first batch of Ambassador games right now. Full details on what titles are available and how to download them are below. What are you waiting for?!

How to Download 3DS Ambassador Games

Turn on your 3DS system.
Make sure you are a part of the Ambassador Program, otherwise these games won’t show up for you. This can be done by entering the Nintendo eShop and heading to the “News” hub on the left. If you see an article titled “Ambassador Program Update” at the top, you’re good to go! You can also check your Ambassador status online by visiting THIS SITE.
Also note that you must be connected to the internet to download games from the eShop. Your connection availability can be viewed in the top left corner of the top screen on the 3DS.
Now that you know you are connected, and indeed a recipient of these games, go back to the main menu of the eShop.
Tap “Menu” in the top left hand corner of the bottom screen. This will create a small pop up. Scroll down the list and tap on “Settings/Other.”
This will take you to your handheld’s History. Scroll down a bit and tap on “Your Downloads.” Here, you will see every game and application you have downloaded onto your device.
Scroll down the list a bit and you should come across the ten games mentioned above. There’s no way to queue all of the downloads up, so you’ll have to do each game manually. Free is never easy! 😉
Find the titles you want to download and tap “Redownload.” Then select “Download.” Now the eShop will start to download the game(s) to your 3DS. Be sure to get the Ambassador Certificate as well, as it allows you to sign up for future notifications. You are still waiting on those ten free GBA games, afterall!
Once you are finished downloading them, the ten titles will appear on your 3DS home screen. So press the Home button and there you go! Ten new games to revisit. Enjoy!

SkyDrift Receives Official Launch Date

Digital Reality today announced that their upcoming flight racing game, SkyDrift, will launch for both Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network on September 7th, 2011 for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). SkyDrift puts players in the cockpit of one of eight planes (with over 30 skins), as they battle for first place in this insane arcade racer. More information about the game can be found below.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time feat. Christopher Daniel Barnes

Activision and Beenox have released a new trailer for their upcoming video game, Spider-Man: Edge of Time. The trailer features a look at Christopher Daniel Barnes, who does the voice work for Spider-Man 2099. Spider-Man: Edge of Time is scheduled to be released on October 4th, 2011. Developed by Activision-owned studio Beenox, Spider-Man: Edge of Time challenges the player to take on the roles of both classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to correct a timestream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time is a focused, action-packed adventure set in two connected and evolving timelines, from the contemporary times of the Amazing Spider-Man to the corrupted future world of Spider-Man 2099, against the backdrop of a rich, tightly crafted narrative by acclaimed Marvel veteran Peter David (co-creator of the comic book series Spider-Man 2099). The game features all-new “cause-and-effect” gameplay, where players will see how the immediate and sometimes unexpected effects of their actions as one Spider-Man changes the timeline of the other Spider-Man.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Bundle Revealed

Nintendo originally announced plans for a golden Wii remote and the Zelda Symphony Tour at E3 2011, in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, as well the launch of the newest iteration, Skyward Sword. Nintendo today announced official details for the Skyward Sword bundle, which includes: a copy of the game, a gold Wii remote, and a special music CD that contains a selection of songs from the concert tour. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be released on November 20th, 2011. Full details can be found below.

States Announce Debut Album

After several teasers, indie rock band States has finally announced that their debut album, Room to Run, will be available on October 18th. States was formed in 2010 after indie bands Lydia and Copeland initially dissolved. Mindy White (former Lydia) formed a super group of sorts with Bryan and Stephen Laurenson, Jonathon Bucklew (former Copeland), and Dean Lorenz.

States first EP, Line Em Up, is available now.

Castle Crashers XBLA Receives Title Update 2!

Indie developer The Behemoth has promised a few surprises to fans while they are showing off their upcoming XBLA game BattleBlock Theater at the 2011 Pax Prime Expo in Seattle. The first of those surprises has been announced, as the XBLA version of Castle Crashers has received its second title update. The new addition adds a handful of features, while also finally fixing quite a few bugs that may have been annoying you over the past couple years.
